sheherazade:

“I love borders. August is the border between summer and autumn; it is the most beautiful month I know. Twilight is the border between day and night, and the shore is the border between sea and land. The border is longing; when both have fallen in love but still haven’t said anything. The border is to be on the way. It is the way that is the most important thing.”

What’s good everybody 🌱🪴

I am sitting here waiting for a migraine to back off. It was a rough July with some health issues but I think I’m back on the train tracks.

I’ve had a hard time with anxiety this year. It came as a surprise since I have made some changes to reduce stress and recover from burnout. I think it’s part of the burnout recovery. This past couple of days I have re connected with reading. It has been so healing for my heart. The two books I read were “Imogen, Obviously” and then “Forever is Now” and together they both read like a double feature. They fit so well back to back. Next on my list is Invisible Son but I have to get this migraine out the door first. 📚

I sat with some lotion to help my hands and arms. I’ve done a lot of cleaning this past week and so I’ve washed my hands and arms a lot too, so they are really not happy with me lol.

It looks like we will get an afternoon storm. 🌧

For now I will sit and maybe scroll through some fall/autumn posts until my head feels better.

What are you all into today? 🖤

Migraine is still here but I was able to read a bit. Invisible Son is really good so far!

Well it’s not as bad as earlier but I couldn’t shake the migraine today so I’m off to bed early, hopefully it’ll go away with sleep. Hope you all have a great day/night wherever you are in the world 🖤🌃

Happy birthday, Audre Lorde! (February 18, 1934)

A prominent Black lesbian poet and activist, Audre Lordeโ€™s work deals with themes of feminism, identity, discrimination, struggle, and civil rights. Born in New York, Lorde began writing poems in eighth grade and gained prominence throughout the 1960s as a young poet on the rise. Lorde was highly influential in the field of Black feminism, often clashing with white feminists whose feminism served to reinforce the oppression of Black women. She was also an anticapitalist who experienced discrimination in left-wing circles due to the fact that she was a lesbian. Throughout her life, Lorde published a number of poems, books, essays, and speeches, and today is regarded as one of the finest poets in American history.
